Momentan ist das Essen sehr zentral bei mir! Ich hab einen beinahe unstillbaren Appetit!Das Frühstück ist meine Lieblingsmahlzeit. Ich nehme mir gerne genügend Zeit bereits am Morgen etwas Warmes zu essen und dazu einen Klassikradiosender zu hören. Ein Ei von den Hühnern meiner Eltern ist dabei ein seltener, aber umso köstlicherer Genuss.
Am Wochenende habe ich sogar mal wieder selber Brot gebacken, nachdem ich lange von den Resultaten enttäuscht und es ein bisschen hab sein lassen, ist mir am Sonntag endlich mal wieder ein sehr leckeres Brot gelungen. Mit frisch gemahlenem Dinkel und Roggen und Sesamsamen. Dazu habe ich Feigenkonfi gegessen, die mir Freunde aus Korsika mitgebracht hatten.
Der Lebkuchen (Biber genannt) ist eine Spezialität aus dem Kanton Appenzell. In der Mitte hat er eine Mandelfüllung und meist sind sie schön dekoriert. Die Frau auf dem Bild trägt die Frauentracht, zusammen mit dem Mann würde es so aussehen.

I love breakfast. Taking time to eat something warm and listening to the radio (classical). An egg from my parents hen is a rare but big consumption.
This weekend I made some bread. I didn't bake anymore because I was often disappointed from the result. But this time I was very succhessfull! I used fresh grounded flour (I have my own little machine) - spelt and rye - and sesame seeds.
With this fig jam it was delicous. Friends brought it from Corsica.
The Lebkuchen on the last picture is a speciality from canton Appenzell. It's called "Biber" and has an almond filling. The woman on it has got a tipical dress from this canton, in reality it looks like this.

Hey Jeanette, mir gehts ähnlich mit dem Essen, das muß der Frühjahrshunder sein! Ich bin in den letzten Tagen besessen von frischen griechischen Salat mit Feta und Oliven und von asiatischen Essen mit Kokosmilch oder noch besser: viel Sojasauce. Dein Essen sieht sehr gesund aus. Die Eier deiner Eltern sind besonders lecker und das Brot paßt bestimmt sehr gut dazu. liebe Grüße von Katja

Breakfast! Ah, breakfast. Good enough to be enjoyed at any time of the day. Here, I am looking forward to cooler days started with a warm bowl of porridge and a mug of coffee.
Well done! Do you have an electric cereal mill? I have a small hand cranked one, but rye is such a hard grain! I hardly ever use it these days, but this is a good reminder, I'll have to dig it out.
